Frequently Asked Questions
Do you massage men?
Sorry, but I no longer massage men due to potential situations occurring from previous experience which I am not comfortable with.
There will be other male therapists out there who will gladly accommodate gentlemen.
What should I wear during my massage?
This will always be the client’s choice and you have the complete freedom to wear or not wear whatever you feel most comfortable with. I treat ladies who wear briefs whereby the areas not currently being worked on will be draped and I employ a very professional towel or sarong draping technique. Other ladies I care for prefer not to wear anything, enabling a more prolonged, sweeping and free-flowing massage with “lomi lomi” influences which can have the effect for example of extending the lower back and can feel even more luxurious. In response to feedback I have received over many years, the option to be draped will always be down to your own personal preference and you can be assured of an exhilarating, caring, non-judgemental, empathetic massage experience regardless of your choices, which we will establish prior to your massage commencing.
What should I expect during my first session?
After welcoming you and offering you a glass of filtered water, we will talk and fill out a simple, non-intrusive consultation form. This will enable me to establish whether you have any contra-indications which may restrict or inhibit a massage, so please be honest with me as it is in both our interests, as ensuring your care means everything to me. I will need to know of any allergies so that I may select an appropriate massage oil combination for your session.
We will chat about what you wish for from your massage and which areas, if any, you would particularly like me to concentrate on because yes, this IS all about you! If you made the appointment by phone, we would most likely have initially outlined this when you were deciding on the duration of your massage.
Can I talk during my massage?
Of course you can! I will always be there for you during your massage, should you wish to talk or ask anything at any time. For example, you may want to ask for your glass of water during a longer session and I would want you to tell me if you were ever feeling too warm or not warm enough. I would normally only otherwise speak when I need to change the position of say an arm or leg during the treatment and I wouldn’t even do that if I sense that you are potentially dozing at that time!
Obviously, for a full-body treatment, I will quietly ask you to gently roll over at the appropriate time but otherwise, I would not wish to disturb your peace and would want to enable your mind to float free whereby you enter a beautiful state of massage bliss!
If you should have any other questions regarding your massage, you only have to ask and I’ll be happy to help.
You can either call me or use my contact form.
